On Thursday 7th April, the HSBC NZCTA China Business Awards were held, celebrating the growing success of the economic relationship between New Zealand & China. This is the ninth award ceremony since its inception in 2004 and they have grown to become New Zealand’s preeminent awards recognising and rewarding business success in China. Nine awards celebrated businesses across categories such as innovation, digital marketing, relationships and investment.

The United Media Solution Award for Digital Excellence in Business between NZ and China recognises those who have adopted innovative digital means to excel business relationships with China. Finalists for this award included Education New Zealand Manapou ki te Ao, Good Health Products Ltd, Tourism New Zealand, and winner Les Mills China. Les Mills China had to completely reconstruct its offering to Chinese members when the pandemic shut down all its stores. In a matter of days, a WeChat Mini Program was up and running, providing their classes to people in their homes, and later, a Les Mills TV subscription was launched. Les Mills leveraged digital partnerships to localise content, all while growing their business and resilience. Their digital innovation has provided a platform for them to significantly elevate their product and work towards their goal of creating a fitter planet.
