United Media Solution (UMS) has expanded its Business Development team as it prepares for growth in the Australian market.

Jo Ruo joins as Business Development Manager, responsible for driving new business growth with Australian companies looking to target the China market.

Ruo will be based in UMS new Melbourne office and will work alongside UMS Australia founding member Eric Yu to help build the Australian arm of the business.

Ruo will also work with UMS’ International Business Development team across its offices in Auckland, Shanghai and Ningbo, and will report to UMS Chief Executive Officer Jessica Miao.

Ruo brings a wealth of knowledge gained from working across a number of sectors including the Education, Agricultural and Beauty industries.

Ruo has previously worked for Dairy Australia as an International Market Coordinator with a focus on the Greater China market, as well as her previous role as Operations Manager for New Oriental Education & Technology Group, based in China. Most recently, she was Retail Manager for Tom Ford Beauty. Ruo also holds a double degree in Business & Commerce and Communication from Monash University.

Jessica Miao, Chief Executive Officer, UMS, said, “Jo is a rare find, in that she is a highly capable sales and marketing professional with a strong business background and a solid understanding of both the Australian and China markets.

“We are very excited to welcome Jo to the UMS team as our first Australian hire. Working alongside Eric Yu, we are confident these two exceptional individuals will be a driving force behind the agency’s growth as we help Australian businesses to connect with Chinese consumers.”

Jo Ruo, Business Development Manager, UMS Melbourne, said, “Digital Media is at the forefront of business development, and this, combined with the current interest in the China market, makes for an exciting time for UMS.

“I am thrilled to be working for an award-winning digital marketing company where I can utilise my skills and previous experiences, while also challenging myself in new areas. The team at UMS are passionate and enthusiastic professionals and I look forward to working alongside like-minded people to help the Australian business to grow.”
